Minutes of the July 10, 2010 meeting of Alexander Hamilton Chapter TXXAR #66
As the group gathered, fellowshiped and ordered our lunches, President Harlan Green handed our name tags to the 17 members present. These were made possible by a donation of $380 on Insurance refund by the HPFM Branch # 109 and through Chaplain David Kirkland.
President Green then related that he and David Kirkland met in uniform on July 4th at Berry Creek to fire their muskets and start the annual 5 k race there.
Pres. Green then announced that our Registrar/Geneologist Dan Stauffer will be married in August and will be away until November.
Dan Stauffer handed Harold Walden his supplemental on his patriot ancestor Steven Lumas from Boston and CT.
Pres. Green announced the selection of Dan Towery as Sgt of Arms.
He then announced that we along with the Patrick Henry Chapter in Austin (with which some of our members have dual memberships) are hosting the TXSSAR SUMMER BOM MEETING at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Austin Sat. July 31 and Sun. Aug. 1. and he encouraged some of our members to attend.
Pres. Green passed to any who wanted them, order blanks for SAR Merchandise from Louisville, KY.
Pres. Green announced that our chapter presented Jr.ROTC medals and certificates to the 7 schools in our county who have such programs.
President Green called the meeting to order at 11:35 followed by the pledges to the flags and Opening Prayer by Chaplain Kirkland. He then had the 9 guests introduced.
Since the Treasurer was not present, there was no report.

The minutes of the June meeting were approved as printed.
An excellent program was presented by Jeff Hunt, director of the Texas Military Museum at Camp Mabry in Austin. He is also Professor of History at Austin Community College and involved in the Living History Museum at Fredericksburg. He also gave us a lot of the history of the Texas 36th infantry Division. He invited any of our member to come to vision the Military Museum which is open Wed.-Sun. 10 A.M. to 4 P.M.
The meeting closed with the Recessional and Closing Prayer by Chaplain Kirkland.
