The meeting was opened by President Bunnell with the pledges to the
flags followed by Prayer by Ray Devine in the absence Chaplain Kirkland.
Opening remarks by Pres. Bunnell included the need for our chapter to be
more fully involved with the Williamson County Schools by concentrating on
one school at a time.
The members were reminded that we do not have our own meeting next
month, but will join with the Austin SAR chapter and DAR chapters in greater
Austin area for a special George Washington Birthday dinner and program
at the Austin Woman's Club. If our members prefer, we are also invited to join
the Heart of Texas Chapter for their George Washing's Birthday celebration
in Temple, Texas.
Secretary had no report at this time but noted that we had 17 members
and 10 guests present. It was requested that the President and President-
elect be given copies of the Annual Report.
Treasurer reported a balance in the bank of $1,381.13
Historian reported that he has the scrapbook made by former historian and
he passed it around for the members to see.
Photographer Will Else was introduced and was busy taking pictures.
President Bunnell then introduced the guests present.
President elect Swetland introduced the speaker: Mickie Ross,
Executive Directory of the Williamson Museum in Georgetown. She
shared information that the museum has on the early settlement of the
