President Ray DeVries called the meeting to order.
The pledges to the United States Flag, The Texas Flag and the SAR flag were led by David Kirkland.
Opening prayer was led by Mike Nichols.
In read an inspirational piece entitled "Thirteen Hands" about the Iwo Jima Memorial, in Washington D.C.
He then read a humorous piece entitled "You Could've Heard A Pin Drop".
Minutes from the May meeting were approved.
Treasurer Bill Freeman gave the treasury report.
David Kirkland reported that we can purchase replica firearms for non-firing events.
Motion by Rick Malley, seconded by James Scott to purchase these firearms. Motion unanimously carried by voice vote.
President DeVries mentioned that more members were needed for July 3rd events at the Veteran's Memorial at Sun City.
At this time, formal procedings were suspended for lunch.
After lunch, President Elect James Scott introduced our speaker, David Allan Smith. Following his talk about "Women In The Revolution", Mr. Scott presented Mr. Smith with a miniature cannon as a token of our appreciation for his speach.
President DeVries gave us an update about compatriots Harlon Green, Don Bunnell, and Harry Walden whose wife has had a stroke.
Next month's meeting will be a DAR girls theater reading. The meeting will be held at Mel's Lonestar Lanes, 1010 N. Austin Ave, Georgetown Texas
We were reminded of September's joint meeting with the DAR in Austin.
