July 11, 2015 minutes

- President James Scott called the meeting to order.

- President

-Elect Lane Redwine led the pledges to the flag of the United States of America, the flag of the State of Texas, and the flag of the Sons of the American Revolution.

- Chaplain William Towery led the opening prayer.

- Minutes from the June meeting were approved.

- Secretary Rick Malley introduced our guest.

- President Scott told a humorous story about "Thibadeaux and Boudreaux".

- He then presented an historical story about Pedro Francisco.

- Mr. Scott informed us that the color guard made a couple of presentations at Sun City. They also posted the color at the Sun City Singers concert at the ballroom. In addition, they presented the colors at the Dell Diamond for a Round Rock Express game. Everyone is encouraged to to get a uniform and participate. Past president Ray DeVries states that the Purple Heart Society invited the group to participate in a ceremony on 9/11 at the Sun City Plaza.

- Treasurer Bill Freeman reports that the treasury has $1623.73.

- Registrar Harry Walden reported that there are several applications "in the pipeline".

- President Scot asks if anyone is interested in any position, please let him know.

- President Scot also stated that Roger Gore is now certain that he will be able to continue as Historian.

- Ray DeVries says that Operation Ancestry Search will meet July 14 from 1:30

- 3:30 and also on July 22. He encourages anyone to participate and says they have had good attendance.

- At this time, lunch was served.

- Speaker Robert Simmons, former member of the Special Forces, spoke about his experiences as an Army Ranger.

- President

-elect Redwine presented Mr. Simmons with a memento of his visit.

- Recessional was led by President

-elect Redwine.

- Closing prayer was led by Chaplain Towery.
