Jan. 9 A Brief Account of the Korean War was presented by A.J. Key and Larry Kinnard of the Korean War Veterans Associations
Arl. Chapter 22nd Anniversary was observed and chapter history discussed by all, group photos were taken. Our chapter was re-organized Jan. 11. 1994
Feb. 13 New Member Certificates were presented to Compatriots Corey Walker, father Levi Walker, sons Jacob Walker & Joseph Walker; grandsons Jason Walker, Heath Walker & Aaron Walker; and nephews Russell Mirabelli & Andrew Mirabelli. Their Patriot is William Curlee.
New Member Certificates were presented to Compatriots Mike Hutchins Sr, son Mike Hutchins Jr, brother Douglas Hutchins, and cousins Billy Bob Finnell and Scott Finnell. Their Patriot is Stephen Beckham, Jr.

Mar. 5 Arlington Stake, Family History Fair was attended by Compatriots Ron Carter and John Anderson and Richard Coffey

Chapter Distinguished Service Medal was presented to Compatriot Roger Wehr
Past President Pin and 15 Year Membership Pin were presented to Compatriot David Friels
5 Year Membership Pins were presented to Compatriots James Gibson and John Anderson
Mar. 12 Cemetery Grave Marking Ceremony was conducted at the Arlington Cemetery to dedicate a new marker for Past TX SAR President 1942 Benton Carter Collins and re-dedicate the existing marker for Past TX SAR President 1935 Dr. Valin R. Woodward, Sr. Beginning the event were the TX SAR Color Guard and Lonestar Sea Cadets where Flag Ceremonies and musket vollies were fired. The event was hosted by current Arl. Chapter Pres. Compatriot John Anderson and the Arlington Historical Society. Director Geraldine Mills added to the ceremony by discussing Arlington in the 1940s. TX SAR Pres. Larry Stevens discussed the actions of both Past Pres. and the impact they had on the TX SAR Society. The Arlington Landmark Commission attended and ear-marked the old Woodward residence as an Arlington Historical Landmark. Woodward and Collins families were in attendance.
Apr. 1 Karl E. Wallace Certificate was awarded to our chapter as the chapter with highest percent growth at the TX SAR Annual Convention
TX SAR Gold Star for our SAR Flag Streamer was awarded to our chapter for our awarding at least one Flag Certificate last year
TX SAR C.A.R. Essay entry by our chapter from Ryan M. Jones placed 4th in the state competition
TX SAR Poster entry by our chapter from Jamie Vargas placed 3rd in the state competition
Bernardo de Galvez Medal was awarded to Compatriot Bill Covington
Apr. 9 Hessian Prisoners of War was presented by Compatriot Bill Covington
May 14 New Member Certificate was presented to Compatriot Ned Myers. His Patriot is James Coe.
Dual New Member was recognized of Compatriot Joe Sogan. His is a primary member in Ohio with Patriot Alexander George.
Jun. 11 TX SAR Color Guard Uniforms was presented by Compatriot Bobby Gresham of the Major K.M. VanZandt Chapter
New Member Certificate was presented to Compatriot Jerry Cope. His Patriot is John McKinney.
New Member Transfer was recognized of Compatriot Rev. James Harris. His Patriot is Terrance Conner.

Jun. 18 Flag Certificate was presented to the Lonestar Squadron of the US Navy Sea Cadets at Carswell JRB for their efforts in the Mar. 2016 Cemetery Grave Marking Ceremony at the Arlington Cemetery
