Minutes of the regularly slated meeting of the Dallas Chapter, Texas Society, Sons of the American Revolution held on Saturday, June 9, 2001 at Luby’s Cafeteria, 6221 E. Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, Texas.

Around or about 8:00 A.M. President Gary Sisson called the meeting to order. The sick call was read and the invocation delivered by Former Chapter President Arthur Ingalls. The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States was led by Compatriot Mel McCoy. The Salute to the Texas flag was led by Compatriot Martin Lyford, and the Salute to the SAR flag was led by Compatriot Larry Boyd. President Sisson led the singing of the first verse of "America". Sergeant-at-Arms Tom Whitelock led the members and guests to the breakfast serving line.

After breakfast the greeters, Ralph McDowell and Larry Boyd, were recognized and guests were introduced table-by-table by their hosts. The guest list is available from the Treasurer’s sign-in sheet. Resident humorist, Former Chapter President Ingalls, delivered the joke of the day. The reading of the minutes of the last meeting was waived by popular demand. Treasurer Tracy Pounders delivered the Treasurer’s report.

The Americanism presentation was given by Compatriot Bob Coursey. New business consisted of a report on the Constitution and By-laws amendments required to bring them into agreement with practice, the Flag Day ceremony at Valley View Center on June 14th and the Day in The Park at the DAR house in Fair Park on June 23rd.

1st Vice-President Clifford Slagle introduced the program, NSSAR Vice-President General, International, Jack Haughton, who spoke on "Myths and Truths About the Minute Men" and was presented with a certificate and a Liberty Bell replica.

Treasurer Pounders conducted a door prize drawing, and President Sisson delivered the SAR closing. Former Chapter President Ingalls gave the benediction, and the meeting was adjourned at approximately 10:30 A.M.
