2009 –2010 Fundraiser for the Patriot Fund
The Ladies Auxiliary 2009-2010 Annual Patriot Fund fundraising project for this SAR Term was a set of framed, finely-stitched needlework pieces depicting early flags of our great Republic! The matted art is 16” x 20” in gold frames. Pictured above is the needlework. These beautiful pieces of patriotic needlework were prepared by Ann Mitchell, wife of Compatriot James Mitchell of the PineyWoods chapter. Ann is a wonderful supporter of SAR. She thought of SAR the minute she saw these fabulous patterns.
The drawing was held at the March State Meeting. Tom Jackson of the Robert Rankin chapter was the winner. The project resulted in a $2,000 donation to the Texas SAR Patriot Fund Expenses.
