MINUTES

January 15, 2004

A meeting of the Lt. Nathan Gann Chapter, S.A.R., was held at 6:30 P.M. Thursday, January 15, 2004 at the Golden Corral Restaurant in Lufkin, Texas.

Members attending were:  Woody Gann, Vance Roberts, Fred Jacobs, Tom H. Gann, Fred Preston, Lester Sparks, Ed Shelton, Jeff Corbett and David Larned.

Guests attending were: Sue Roberts, Betty Preston, Mildred Sparks, Honora Jacobs, Vicki Gann, Jane Shelton, Carman Larned and Brianna Larned.

President Woody Gann called the meeting to order.  Chaplain Lester Sparks gave the invocation.  Vance Roberts led the assemblage in the pledge to the American Flag.

Treasurer Jeff Corbett reported that our chapter checking account balance was $1080.19 and our certificate of deposit account balance was $6,484.18.

The minutes of the last meeting were approved as mailed.

The speaker for the evening was Chapter Compatriot Dr. David Larned and his speech was about his Revolutionary War ancestor, Richard Welch, who served with Marion's South Carolina Brigade.  David also told us some of the "Hows and Where" he discovered some of the information.

The following slate of officers were elected for a three year term:

The meeting was adjourned at approximately 7:50 P.M.
